The bottom dwellers of the ACC basketball suck this season

How bad is ACC basketball this season?

traditional Big East bottom dweller DePaul has a NET ranking of #111.

There are currently 8 ACC teams with NET rankings worse than DePaul.

Once proud Syracuse has a NET ranking of #154.

The ACC has morphed into the WCC. One very good/great team, 1-2 decent teams, and a bunch of tomato cans.

It’s gotten ugly, but still likely to get 5 bids (Duke, Clemson, UNC, Pitt, Louisville).

And somehow they had the best tournament overall last year with 3 teams in the elite 8. But yeah it’s not trending well.

Pitt is currently projected to be in the tourney. They're right next to us in NET and close by in KP.

I watch a lot of Pitt games. Even in our diminished capacity, we would beat them by double digits 9x of 10. They are far less than the sum of their parts.

Duke is pounding all these cupcakes and feeling pretty good about themselves but they haven’t really played a decent team in over a month. They’re 1-2 against top 25 teams and they will play only 1 more ranked team (maybe) the rest of the way. Based on their schedule alone I fully expect they’ll be the overall #1 seed, but they are highly reliant on 3 freshman which we know isn’t usually a recipe for championships. Flagg is a nice player, but I have a feeling they will flame out in the first few rounds as usual.
