With just under 6 to play Whaley joined Carlton to give us a 2 big lineup. For the next 3 plus minutes one or both of them made an important play on every single possession:

1) Carlton taps out an offensive rebound, then Whaley dunks off a great feed from Adams.

2) Whaley blocks a shot, Anderson fouled after the rebound and hits 2 free throws.

3) Carlton and Whaley double Fall and force a tough shot, Whaley the rebound.

4) Carlton sets a great screen freeing Adams for a wide open jumper.

5) Whaley blocks a shot, tips the rebound to Adams.

6) Whaley offensive rebound, Anderson hits a runner.

Those plays fueled an 8-0 run to push our lead to 12 with 2:30 to go, effectively putting the game away.

Very exciting to see the young guys play so well in crunch time. I hope we see a lot more of Whaley and Carlton on the court together.

Has to go with Rodman over Barkley. I don't think Whaley has much chance of becoming a Round Mound.

Whaley actually reminds me of Birdman a bit. Wiry, athletic, good shotblocker, decent rebounder, not much of a shot or post move set. He’s a better passer than any of our other young bigs, too.

He won’t rebound like Rodman, and he’s much more of a “nice guy”.
