Hopefully you can read this without a subscription/account (if you choose). More bad data for the NFL showing what we all believe is true - that the cumulative effect of hits over time has a significant impact of the neurological health of former players. Especially for OL, DL and RB's.
"The retirees did not fare much better on neuropsychological tests, which showed significant abnormalities in attention and concentration (42% of former players), executive function (50%), learning and memory (45%), and spatial and perceptual function (24%)."
I pray for a breakthrough in helmet technology that can make this sport we love safer to play.

MRI shows brain injury in nearly half of ex-NFL players

I really hope that someone invents better helmets soon or else there won't be football to watch because no one is going to want to play anymore in fear of permanent damage.

They showed a very promising device on the news a short while ago. It was a collar like device that slightly restricts bloodflow, providing a cushion for the brain. Still being studied. Same concept of a woodpecker.

That's awesome. I'd really like to see something be done. Especially for the younger guys in high school
