Really the last 9 games have really shown that Hurley & his assistants can:

-Realize when teams have figured out our base offense & defense
-Develop & successfully implement at least two fairly different offensive counterattacks to those scouts/game plans
-Get a team that had slacked on defense & fundamentals (rebounding) to ratchet it back up
-Win just about every rematch where we lost the first game

The BE season has been a rough rollercoaster at times, but the team and the coaches are the better for it.

We should be able to adapt our gameplan to just about anything any team will try to throw at us going into tourney time

Maybe, Hurley finally listened to the Boneyard? :D

If all of the above holds true through the BE Tournament, sounds good to me.

Perhaps, but not likely... Especially his refusal to experiment with the Double BIG...

Want to hear a crazy stat? Final 6 games of the regular season for the past 3 years

2020-2021: 6-1
2021-2022: 6-1
2022-2023: 6-1 (with a chance to go 8-1)

Every UConn team has always sucked in January. That’s a truth going back to the Calhoun days. But it’s the sign of great coaching that you battle through the season, and finish up hot going into the tournament. We just torched 2 of the top 4 teams in the league by a combined 35 points. Hurley has been on fire and got these guys playing as well as they were in November and December.

Hurley not listening to the boneyard… the the results are pretty good…not playing the double big and not benching Andre have proved to be good moves… also him adapting to counter what other coaches have used against us has proved to be masterful.. we are playing our best basketball right now

There's been a pattern to Hurley's seasons here, we have to change the last part of the pattern this season.

I truly believe last year ends differently had Hawkins been available. Hawkins injury gets glossed over a lot when discussing the tournament last season. We still should have won. This year we HAVE to win at LEAST a game

If we keep playing like this, we’ll end up in the FF

I don't know about that but it's a possibility. That game was weird, it felt like we didn't even show up. Hawkins was barely scoring at that time.

We've got to make it to the second weekend. We've shown we look like the best team when we're playing our game. It's time to do it on the big stage.

Actually he’s not… he’s doing the exact opposite
Ms Hurley. The boneyard has been saying AJ should not be shooting threes and should be attacking the rim 6 weeks before DH tried it. People were saying maybe he should come off the bench, not be benched. …big difference

Do you guys genuinely believe that you have basketball insight that is beyond the comprehension of a Big East coaching staff? It’s really one of the strangest things about this board.

At the end of last season one very active poster proposed that Hurley read some basketball strategy books and watch tapes of prior games over the summer like that was a valuable suggestion.

Most of the Hurley criticism isn't any more sophisticated than "We lost. Coach bad", but it's par for the course here.

To me, his biggest shortcomings/failures are (1) his struggles to recruit a point guard, (2) failing to have the team prepared for their opening round game in the tournament last year, and (3) some stupid, poorly-timed technicals.

He's consistently changed his offensive and defensive strategies to match the abilities on the roster, and has made mid-season adjustments where necessary. He has the occasional head-scratching lineup, but a lot of that in January was trying to find something that worked when so many guys just weren't playing well.

I never said I know more than DH, or many of the posters here. I simply pointed out people have been saying Jax needs to attack the rim and not shoot so many 3s….and yes it was discussed here well before DH changed the offense
