Pretty good list, but always others you could have.

UConn games:
20. Kemba has a mismatch
13. 6OT Syracuse
4. George Mason

Of teams with multiple games on the list, Duke has 4 games, UConn 3, Kansas 3, North Carolina, 3, Gonzaga 2, Syracuse 2, UCLA 2, Kentucky 2, and Georgetown 2.

It's the win that got them into the elite 8 this past year, the furthest a low major seed (14+ in my definition) has ever gotten.
I doubt any casual fan remembers that game. But they sure do remember UConn/Pitt.

Every college basketball fan remembers it, it just happened 7 months ago and was the highest rated sweet 16 game since 2011. You don't remember it.
And we’ll hear about it during every Seton Hall game this season

I thought we weren’t supposed to mention #4

I’d take UConn over Pitt all day long and I live for college bball.

Purdue is Purdue lol, they’ve gained more recognition bc the media has a hard on for BigTen since Fauci

I’d argue Kembas shot is more iconic than anything that came out of Saint Peter’s/Purdue. But I digress.

It's a list of the 20 most influential college basketball games of the 2000's.

What you may have forgotten was that 15 seed St Peter’s had already dispatched 2 seed Kentucky. So Purdue was second p5 giant slayed by a school from Jersey City that plays its games in something only marginally better than a high school gym. Is was a great story that had even non basketball fans paying attention.
I didn’t forget that. There simply are better games is all, and Purdue is historically not that good. Them beating a Northwestern, Nebraska, Minnesota, Rutgers, etc is the equivalent of Purdue

Northwestern has won 1 tournament game, Purdue has won around 50. Purdue has won 24 Big 10 championships, the most ever. Northwestern won 2 around 100 years ago.

You're focusing on the wrong side of what made the game iconic and belong on the list

Throwing in Northwestern was a mistake, but that’s how I view them and the majority of the BigTen, overrated. And good for them on the conference titles, most of those were pre WW2 lol

They have how many Final Fours? 2. To me, they’re never really a serious contender

What makes a game “influential”? Whichever game showed the most cleavage while dancing to a Post Malone song?

Yeah I had the same question. What makes any of these games "influential"?
