I like the all out, no apologies push for the P-6 by Aresco. If he isn't laughed off the stage--he wins and he has the skill, respect and moxie to avoid that overt reaction. Had he been leading the BIG EAST at the start of realignment--oh boy. Choosing the right leader is so vital. We've made a few missteps but I love our current hierarchy of Herbst, Benedict, Edsall, Lashee, and Crocker. It's almost got a NE Patriot feel to it!

.....for scheduling with the Big Ten's "P5 only" policy. That is great for UConn. A vote of P5 worthy.

Performance of the AAC will eventually determine whether the "P6 campaign" is just playing dress up or is effective.

Like Pontiac's short lived Fiero...no one will think that you are Tom Selleck in a 308 if you have a Chevette's suspension and a low power push rod four banger motor under marketing's sports car bodywork.

The AAC needs to "go all Houston" and win some big games against good P5 programs. Play in better bowls against better opponents.

Maybe even beat an SEC team or two.

I wouldn't read into it that it means the Big 10 invite is just around the corner.

However, I think you can read into it that the big 10 views UConn has fitting into some sort of mysterious "P5 metric" (flagship, market, fan base etc.).

Whether or not the ruling was just to appease Indiana and Illinois is immaterial because it means other big 10 schools can schedule UConn and still fufill their p5 requirement.

UConn should take advantage and continue to aggressively schedule big 10 openents (I know that's not exactly a #hottake)
