Some years back, the Big East had the brains to drop Ted Valentine from the roster of officials.

A year or so after that, TV Ted jumped all ugly with Bob Knight, and the Big 10 followed the Big East's lead....

So....In my view, administratively, anyway, the AAC is still the Big East. And yet, in the wake of our name change, suddenly we can't remember, anymore, that TV Ted is a crappy official, and he is back in the rotation.

The AAC is s stupid conference.....

Considering that we won and Cronin wanted a "T," not giving him one might have been a good thing. He ended up looking kind of ridiculous, while not unusual, may not have fired up his team. Maybe more embarrassing, especially that time when he was sticking his lower lip out.

He should have gotten the technical the second time about five minutes later.

Valentine should have gotten a technical for jumping in Cronin's face. Valentine either has to give the coach a technical or walk away and let a partner handle the inbound. Jumping in a coach's face is unprofessional and not the way officials should behave.

I kind of agree with this. I was at the game and haven't seen it on TV yet, but from my perspective Teddy got in Cronin's face first (granted Mick was complaining) and once he did that you could tell he wasn't going to call the tech because he initiated it.

You guys are cold. Refs are human and subject to human reactions when abused/challenged.

If refs called everything a foul we would be watching a free throw contest and not a basketball game. I don't see the players, and coaches for that matter, complaining about every missed call. Perhaps they know its part of the game.

As long as we never see Stuart I'll be OK. Next to him, TV Teddy is a fantastic.
