In the last ten games, we are 38 for 157, That's 24%. I use ten games because that is when our slide started at Seton Hall.

But to show how bad it has gotten, in our last four games we're 10-60. That's 16%.

For the year, we're still a respectable 118-365, just under the magic 33%. Which means we used to light it up pretty good from outside the arc earlier this season.

The good news is there is a lot of room for improvement.

In Nov/Dec UConn was almost deadly from 3. I believe we were at the top of the Big East in 3 point shooting. Some people thought with DD, JL, SN, etc.... UConn had its best 3 point shooting team in a long time.

What's more grim is that in losses our opponents have shot roughly a combined 40% from 3.

Calhoun teams have usually "lost" on points gained from behind the arc. But they've always made it up, and then some, on points inside the arc.

Granted, this year is worse than most with our exceptionally bad perimeter defense, but I also suspect that we're not making it up on 2-pointers like we usually do.

Not that it matters, we still wouldve gotten destroyed last night no matter how amazingly Neils played. But it still makes you wonder what exactly Blaney is doing out there.

And Neils is a reluctant shooter. I was at the Samson Johnson game and saw how open Gif was most of the time and our guards never looked his way. I later posted give him the damn ball. Now that I've watched him play more minute I see why. As soon as he gets it he passes it again. Too bad because the way everyone else is shooting it's worth a try.

Giffey does everything fundamentally well, but he is reluctant to shoot and he rarely attacks. He may not turn the ball over but he doesn't do much on offense either (there is no risk in his game and thus little reward). He is a good player to have out there with someone who will drive and dish, but he isn't going to be creating his own shot or a shot for anyone else. He is a good passer, in that he rarely makes a bad pass, but he also won't make a great pass.

He should have played more last night because he does hustle.

Agreed. I'm not the biggest Niels fan and am Norway suggesting hes a stud but given how bad the other options have been playing and considering at least he can hit wide open threes and will play hard and not turn it over and at least look like he gives a crap why not let him play. There is nothing Shabazz did that warranted ten minutes of pt let alone 35
