Jalen Adams gets a shout out.

The 25 players every fan needs to know entering the 2016-2017 college basketball season

22. Jalen Adams, PG, UConn

Adams’ became a part of UConn, and college basketball lore, when he hit this miracle shot to send UConn’s AAC Tournament game against Cincinnati into a fourth overtime, in an eventual win that saved the season. But while Adams was a nice ancillary piece of the Huskies puzzle as a freshman, he will be counted on to carry a heavy scoring and play-making load in 2016.

Adams is a true point guard in every sense of the word, and when combined with freshman Alterique Gilbert and senior Rodney Purvis, the Huskies will have one of the best backcourts in all of college basketball.

Stoopid question...did DHam get an assist on that basket?

If the scorekeeper was even paying attention after all that commotion, and if the rules on that are the same as they are in the NBA, then yes Hamilton should have been given an assist for that shot.

Reluctant assist at that. I think DHam was flabbergasted that a freshman demand that he (our best player) take out the ball when the game was on the line. Jalen was not to be denied in that moment and wanted to take the last shot. To me its telling about his take charge personality and his 'supreme' confidence.

In a year Jalen will be a legit AA, perhaps first team. Like Kemba and Bazz his sidekick will be critical to making that happen. If so that would mean great odds for another Championship.

Losing DHAM will be a blessing in disguise, I know most of you really liked him a lot, i never cared for him although he did get better as the season went on last year, just thought he had a lot of Melo in him as far as stopping the ball movement when the ball touched his hands.

We should be way better with the high pick and roll action off Adams and Gilbert this year.
