Friday night on the Sue and Diana show while talking to Bill Walton Diana revealed something I had not heard before. Even though a UCLA Bruin Bill was going on about how much he loved Stanford. Diana responded that she was trying to go to Stanford and had cardinal blood in her but on day 1 of recruiting she got a call from an “unnamed” coach who told her she was just not Stanford material and there went her cardinal dream.
As they say, when one door closes another opens and through that opening walked Geno and the rest is history. So thank you very much Tara and Stanford. If it hadn’t been for you UConn might be playing for its ninth national championship instead of number 12 and we would have missed out on all those memorable DT highlights from her UConn days.
