Now that the dust has settled and we’ve all (mostly) regained our emotional stability… I wanted to take a minute to say thank you.

First, to Husky Nan / You Know Who — our fearless moderator, stat machine, and part-time therapist. The ability to let us spiral just enough… and then step in with a few well-placed words to restore order (and sanity) is a gift. The numbers, the perspective, and the occasional “let’s all relax” have probably saved this board more times than we’d like to admit.

Second, to Old Dude / Bamboo Lover — your postgame recaps show up like clockwork and always manage to say exactly what happened without hurtling us through the emotional rollercoaster the rest of us are often riding on. Calm, sharp, and always worth the read.

And third, to MSGRET / MSG, US Army Retired — for running the Prognosticator’s Predictions all season long. Nothing keeps a group humbler than putting our “expert” picks on record and watching them unravel in real time. Appreciate the effort, the organization, and the weekly reminder that humility is always just one bad prediction away.

And finally, to all Boneyarders — this place wouldn’t be what it is without you. The takes, the debates, the overreactions, the humor, the heartbreak… you made the season more fun, more frustrating, and a lot more interesting. There were moments I laughed out loud, moments I shook my head, and moments I saw the game in a completely different way.

That’s what makes this place special.

TIMSHEL - Where you going?! You can't leave! We have so many things to get settled before next season:
1. How we can all fix the portal, because the NCAA and everyone involved clearly requires our collective mind to guide them! (And who we should and should not grab for next year from said portal in it's current config!)

2. How can we leave Geno struggling to figure out his starting line-up for 2026-7?!

3. Which 2027 HS players need to be offered and why they shouldn't bother looking elsewhere.

4. Where we should go for vacation, and what we should do and see when we get there. And how we can keep connected on the boneyard while in ______.

And that just touches the obvious work, there are so many other aspects of life we have to thrash out that are critical and we need everyone committed to the work. Do not be one of those bandwagon Bonies that flit in for the season, then disappear when the lights aren't shining bright, only to come back into camp flabby and out of shape in September, unprepared to contribute meaningful hours and only actually start rounding into shape when the calendar flips to 2027!

This is the Boneyard, we follow UCONN, we don't take half the year off and expect to be championship worthy, we WORK at our craft 24/7/365!

The answer to the Guinness question is simple and will save you a lot of time:
1. The best Guinness is only available in Ireland.
2. The best Guinness in Ireland is only available within a few miles of the St. James Gate Brewery, Dublin. No worries there, there is a pub on almost every block in Dublin. (All the time and bumps involved in transportation from the source degrades the quality.)
3. And for the true purest looking for the perfect Guinness - the brewery tour ends with a pint at the source! And I believe they now have a Pub in the Guinness museum which is next door.

We get a decent Guinness here in the states, and they have reopened a new brewery here, but they ship the extract here from Dublin to act as the start of the process and use other local ingredients. Just not the same. I lived in Jamaica for 6 years and they actually sell something brewed on the island with a Guinness label, and it is an interesting drink, but NOT Guinness. I was once at the source about a mile from the Dublin brewery in a nice pub chatting up a lovely lady when I ordered my second pint, and a while later (never accept a pint of Guinness that did not take at least a minute to pull) the publican deliver my pint, the lady seeing that no shamrock had been created in the head used a fingernail to draw one, at which point the publican grabbed my pint and poured it down the drain saying to the lady 'never touch another person's Guinness in my pub!' and I had to wait another couple of minutes for my next pint!

I am joking a bit, but Dublin Guinness is the best I have ever tasted and it was just better than what I had enjoyed elsewhere in Ireland, and the pint I had after touring the brewery was actually divine.
