Calling Colorado a terrible team is actually being a man and recognizing reality. The ones making excuses calling them a good team "top 90 KenPom" to somehow feel better about that loss......... lololol. Colorado is a terrible team, it will be a bad loss all season. Big deal. It happens. I've moved on. I will never call Colorado good this year.
Dayton is not a terrible team. Memphis is not a terrible team. Colorado is a terrible team. Let's call a spade a spade here.

That technical in the Memphis game was the gift that kept on giving. A newly constructed team with multiple players having played little or no college bb did not need that deflation. Plus the hip pointer injury to Liam didn't help. But Colorado is a bad loss and no one will care why unless we really start putting things together and make runs tournament time.

I've watched Texas and what they will do to UConn:

1. Drive to the hoop to get the harm
2. Drive to the hoop to dump off to Kaluma, etc

We have been victimized by dribble drive athletic guards who can get around Mahaney, Ball, and even Diarra and if Johnson is playing, he is not good at weakside help like Tarris is. I really hope we can get better and practice this defensively.

I will be staying at the Hyatt House in downtown Austin Sunday to walk to the reception and game. Remember, the Moody Center disallows backpacks and basically any bag that isn't clear.

Sometimes don't agree with Massey on team ratings but usually aren't as off as your statement suggests.

Ratings

Memphis #13
Colorado # 41
Dayton # 50

UConn # 27
Baylor # 17
Texas # 23

You may be right about Colorado, it just hasn't shown itself in whatever algorithm Massey uses yet.

It will most likely end as a Q3 loss. Major blemish on the resume come March

Anybody in Austin, at the Dive Bar on Guadalupe right now. They’re willing to put the women on for a UCONN crowd tomorrow now

Hopefully we don’t have any “Roscoe Smith type plays” down the stretch this time in Austin. Do you remember??

For those getting in today, bet your weren’t planning for 48 and rain!! Bring your UConn umbrellas!

I work closely with a few UT grads. Most didn't know UT basketball is hosting us tomorrow lol. All eyes are on the SEC Championship game tonight of course. UT looks competitive so far leading up to halftime. Slugfest

Great detail! I had ChatGPT give me the summary of your analysis:

The analysis suggests that while Texas faces challenges with injuries and a lack of returning starters, they possess a strong defensive identity under head coach Rodney Terry. The team emphasizes versatile defensive schemes, transitions into offense, and limits mistakes. Freshman guard Tre Johnson stands out as a rising offensive star and efficient defender, supported by other key players like Arthur Kaluma, Tramon Mark, and Kadin Shedrick.

However, Texas struggles with rebounding and lacks consistent off-the-dribble scorers. Their analytics currently appear underwhelming, but the team’s potential could improve as injured players return and roles solidify. The prediction implies that Texas has the talent and foundational defense to compete, but their success against UConn will depend on overcoming their current limitations and executing effectively against a strong opponent.

The outcome remains uncertain, leaning on Texas’s ability to adjust and capitalize on their defensive strengths.

I do like this Texas team though, easy to root for when they aren't playing us. Weaver is one on my favorite players who isn't on UConn.
Zero teams from Texas are easy to root for.

i’m loving this game so far. Up 18 at the half to a decent Texas team on the road and sitting with some Huskies has been great. Talked to DB at the earlier reception and he was cordial. Good turnout at the reception.
