Texas A&M loses to Little Rock 42 -38

I saw that earlier. Rough start for Joannie. All the coaching changes have turned the SEC upside down. Whew. LSU might end up playing only 1 ranked team all year in SC.

I think there are a few SEC teams outside of LSU and South Carolina that may possibly be ranked at some point during the season...UGA, Arkansas (ranked in some polls right now), and Missouri are three that come to mind. I could see Tennessee possibly working their way back to top 25 status by season's end. Otherwise, yeah, things don't look so good.

I simply can't grasp scoring 14 points in a half... I got Nikki Fargas offense vibes looking at that box score. I immediately thought of our game against UCF during her last year. Granted UCF is a very solid team but scoring that little in a half is pitiful offense all around.

It's interesting to me that last season was the first losing season for Texas A&M since 2003-2004. Not sure if Blair skimped on recruiting but obviously the pieces aren't there anymore for A&M and the new coach.

How the mighty have fallen. :( Texas A&M has become a joke. They need to wipe the slate clean and start over with a new coach and new players.

In other news...................Notre Dame's Olivia Miles had a triple double today against tiny Merrimack College. 13/13/14.

Merrimack College, located in North Andover, Massachusetts. All of the Warrior athletic teams compete at the Division I level.
Merrimack got their butts handed to them today. Miles was simply out of control doing anything she wanted to.

Hahahahahahaha!!! Is this an exhibition game?! Niele might as well schedule games against high school teams.

I used to teach at Merrimack. They’re tiny and inconsequential. They’ve resorted to selling off parts of the campus to keep the school open at times.

His last few classes were pretty meh, some 4 star players and all but nothing elite. A&M did add some solid players from the portal during Blair's final years. They won the SEC regular season in 21.

But since then that program lost a lot since that 21 season. This where things started to falter. His stop assistant Starkey went to Auburn (sorta foreshadowed his retirement). They lost N'Dea Jones, Ciera Johnson, Aaliyah Wilson, Alexis Morris (transferred to LSU), Zaay Green (transferred to Arkansas Pine Bluff), and then right before this season they lost Jordan Nixon.

Joni walked into a rough situation IMO. Although I was still a bit shocked by what I saw in their game against Little Rock. They are unfortunately going to be severely limited this year. The season outlook will truly depend on how far their freshmen Bowles and Barker can take them. After the season they will have to load up on transfers in addition to some of their incoming freshmen. They don't have the depth and the talent is sparse and young.

No. this was a regular season game. Merrimack (1-8) is D-1 now. They're swimming in the BIG pool at the deep end with the BIG boys. Inconsequential or not, it counts as a win, and the numbers/stats Miles put up count toward her career total this season. They're tiny and inconsequential. I guess you could say they are the perfect description of a c-u-p-c-a-k-e. :DThey're horrible. Teams are lining up taking
a number to give them a whuppin.

WOW.... looking at LSU's woes, ours doesn't look so bad. I'm pretty sure we'll score more than 12 points in the first half tomorrow, and ALL of our starters will score. I bet Mulkey is beside herself. I don't ever remember Baylor being held to 12 points in a half........any half.

Vandy scored 31 points in a game at ETSU last week. Yeah, we were missing four starters (three of them for the season + Ciaja Harbison for three games in concussion protocol), but facts are facts. Anyway, I win the no-scoring contest. :(

It was a rhetorical question. But you’re right: cupcakus maximus, or is it minimus?

It’s actually a catholic league thing, ND is encouraged to schedule them to try to get them some revenue before they go broke.

That game vs UCF was under Fargas, during her last year at LSU. We got embarrassed pretty badly in the entire OOC slate that year but somehow did average in conference play.

The only thing I miss about Fargas is she scheduled decently. Will not miss her anemic offenses that had zero clue how to not put the ball in the basket. It was quite the time during the end of her tenure. We would celebrate just reaching the 50 point mark LOL

It sounds like they should be a Division 3 or NAIA level program.
This is my 14,000th post. Gearing up for my next 14,000. :)

I have no idea what motivated their move up to D1. They're run by the Augustinian Brothers, but I suspect the Jesuits may have influenced them to do it. Of course, Villanova, another Augustinian college, may have given them a nudge.

WOw, didn't see this score. Who coached the women's team, Jimbo Fisher?
Why did you have to bring Jimbo into this?!?! The football team has their own mess to clean up. (it did make me laugh really hard though:D)

I'm willing to give Coach Taylor a pass for this season, and possibly the next one. Their program is a bigger rebuild than I realized, even with her bringing some of her recruits over the TAMU.

I'm just going to say it-Joni is OVERRATED. Her Georgia teams were abysmal on offense and can she recruit at least one shooter? A&M is a big job and they picked a coach who sort of finished below them in their conference every year.
