This could be a tipping point.

What is TX going to do if A&M gets a bump from being in the SEC???

The folks I know connected with the SEC believe A&M has already gotten a big bump. They fully expect them to be the top program in TX within 10 years. Since they are in the west division A&M will get a home game against two of the following four, Bama, LSU, ARK, Auburn, every year. They are also likely to get at least one and often two, of the following each year at home, TN, FL, MO, GA, SC. The SEC office believes that will be a much better schedule than UT who will have its annual OU neutral site game and then, as they call them, the 8 dwarfs of the Big12?.

Umm, I'm pretty sure that Texas A&M made UT all but irrelevant after just one year in the SEC. This is exactly what the Whorns were so terrified of.

Funny, but the appellation re the "... dwarfs ... " goes back to Oklahoma's days in the Big 8 when they were truly nationally dominant, Nebraska was still dormant and OU was "Oklahoma and the 7 dwarfs" - (Ok. State, Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado, Iowa State, Missouri and Nebraska) OU rarely lost in conference games, in fact any games. maybe 48 straight wins??

I commented on a thread a couple of weeks ago that the SEC folks think they really hit it big with A&M and vice versa. Even keeping in mind the massive ego and hubris that is evident in SEC people it sure looks like they are correct.
