The most interesting game of the day, IMO.

Bridget Carleton is having an All-American-caliber season. She deserves way more buzz than she's getting. She's also got a solid supporting cast around her, which includes Tennessee transfer Alexa Middleton.

Texas has shown some signs of stability since their horrible losses to Mississippi State and Tennessee. Joyner Holmes' minutes and contributions have steadily increased and she's been reinserted in the starting lineup. Against Oklahoma she played 26 minutes and had 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Iowa State is currently #14 in Massey; Texas is #16.

Carleton had a very rough shooting day but came alive in the 4th quarter with 8 points to trim the deficit. She finished with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals.

Sug Sutton had a great game for Texas: 24 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists. Not far from a triple-double.

Interesting trivia: Iowa State's men's and women's teams are both ranked #20 and both of them lost heartbreakers today at home. The men lost to Kansas State on a layup with 5 seconds to play. The women had two shots to tie or win on the last possession but couldn't convert.

I believe she played 3 minutes. I get the Longhorns network where I live and scan most games. C. Collier has had a very up and down year, lately more down than up. I'm sure Texas is thrilled to have her for the future, but appears she is currently getting minimal or no playing time in critical situations.

From what little I've seen of her, she's still really raw. Not too much unlike Nelson-Ododa.

Big win for Texas. This is their best win of the season and should be their toughest non-Baylor game. If Iowa State proves to be strong this could help them big time come selection Monday in landing a 3 or 4 seed.

I guess it is one of those 'nothing on the stat line' so ESPN does not put it in the boxscore

I saw that Carleton and Iowa State in general had a really poor shooting night. Anyone who watched the game, was this because of the defense or did they just have an off night? Texas probably is the most athletic team Iowa State has faced this year, so I was wondering if that was a contributing factor. I've been pleasantly surprised by the Cyclones' performance thus far this season, but still have my doubts that they can hang around against higher level talent.
