Terry McAulay out as American Athletic Conference shifts football officiating oversight model

>>The AAC plans to partner with another conference in its efforts to evaluate and oversee its football officials, two people said, which eliminated the need for McAulay's position<<

>>The AAC will not be the first league to link its officiating operation with another Division I conference; An entity called the Collegiate Officiating Consortium, led by retired NFL referee Bill Carollo, currently oversees officiating in the Big Ten, Mid-American and Missouri Valley Conferences.<<

So the American officially becomes the minor league of officiating for the ACC? (Not that it wasn't already unofficially a feeder for P5 leagues, but now it's in writing).

I'm happier they partnered with a P5 league than any of the other G5 options.

Good riddance. McAulay must be the clown that confirmed you can get a play off with one second left, like the bozo zebras that allowed Tulsa to do that against us last season. He shouldn't be allowed to ref a Pop Warner kiddie league game.
