If LSU can somehow manage to pull this victory off, does this bring into question Tennessee's RPI and NCAAT bid? Despite a nice SEC record 7-3, they could finish 10-6 and be bounced in their first game of the SECT. Their RPI is 49 and their Q1 record is 1-6 along with a horrible OOC of 246 (thank you Holly for one parting gift) ! Now talk about a streak ending...how cataclysmic would that be over at VolNation???

Aifuwa and Pointer have to have big games for us to win. Mitchell was pretty critical earlier in the year playing Tennessee. At one point she was the only offense against them. Other players have to step up later

Trasi has been amazing. By far the best 3 point shooter. Working on her touch near the rim is the last thing to complete her game.

Not sure how half of the Tennessee post players are on scholarship. Woof.

Not good news for Tennessee to be trailing with Aifuwa on the bench pretty much entire first half. This is with limited turnovers as well.

LSU leads 34-32 at half.

Horston has a lot of work to do.

Really bad loss, especially since LSU is missing Mitchell. Tennessee is a bubble team this year IMO. Their only quality win is beating LSU at home. 2 massive games coming up against A&M and Arkansas. Need to win at least one or else they're in serious danger of missing IMO.

Last season, many UConn faithful were sure that they would not be selected but they were. I don't think that this season will be any different...

It feels like we were more balanced today since Mitchell has gone down (not that Mitchell isn't great). Spreading the floor and getting other players involved opened up a lot for us.

I was pretty shocked to see Key ignore Harper and brush her off despite her own coach trying to talk to her. That was pretty bad. Horston seems to have regressed.

Wouldn't think it was particularly close even after this loss.

This is not a really bad loss unless LSU horribly collapses in the remainder of the season.

Tennessee's resume isn't that great, but it's still a bit better than a bubble team. What's really helping them is they have no losses outside the top 50. They're probably about a 9 seed right now. If you look at the bubble teams in Creme's bracket, their resumes are worse than Tennessee's.

Tennessee is #49 in RPI with a 1-7 against Top 50 (Q1) so just because the voting media heads can’t do any research doesn’t mean the Tournament Committee won’t look at that. Tenn needs some wins over somebody good as in a top 50 team. They are on the bubble.

Good game, LSU. Wished somebody would have showed up from our team besides Rennia. Definite set back for us but LSU is a good team and should be ranked...I’m sure y’all will be next week. Maybe we’ll see y’all again in the tourney! Good luck the rest of your season.

Good game.

Its still to early to say much with Harper but there are some deep issues that have to be fixed. IMO she or any other coach will need to strip the whole program down from what was left from the Holly era. There are some significant flaws with the current group the way they play that have carried over from Holly's tenure. Just lack of ball movement, awful decision making, lack of effort at times, leadership voids. Will Harper get Tennessee back to national competitive level? The jury is still out at this time but I think she is going to need her players. Some of the current kids look exactly like the imprinted stamp Holly left on them for the last few years. With the exception of Davis, there does not seem to be a lot of help. Horston seems to be in a major funk and Key has athleticism/potential but is still too raw right now. Zaay being out has hurt a lot because there is not a lot efficiency on offense outside of Rennia.

Harper signed her first crop of girls hand picked girls this year. I'm interested in seeing what y'all look like eventually when she gets her players and has her system in place. None of the current play looks anywhere close from the system she had going at Missouri State. It looks exactly the same almost as what Holly on the floor from the last few years, but with less talent obviously.

Does anyone else think that Tennessee is no better than last season under Holly?
It'll take time I think, but I agree that they dont look much better. They gave Holly a lot of chances, so I'm sure Harper will have a decently long leash.
