Basketball season is back!

A good game so far, with a very high shooting percentage.

But not much of an inside game. TN has to have some inside scoring to go along with the shooters.

Great shooting. I figured Tenn would have to go zone. Miami is not the same team when the game is half-court and especially against a zone.

After touchign the ball 6 times, I finally saw Simmons pass the ball.

Massengale picks up her dribble too soon, too much. She has not impressed.

Glory Johnson swings her elbows way to much. She should be called on it alot.

Yep. She's been doing that since day one and is rarely called on it.

Miami closes the half on a nice run to tie it up.

Tied 42 at the half. Miami did a good job of hanging on after TN went on a run, and Canes had their 2 bigs on the bench.

I don't know what has me more out of breath, the pace of the game or ESPN's effort to cram as much as possible about Summitt and alzheimers into every stoppage of play.

I fear that is going to happen EVERY game this year. And it will get tripled during the NCAAs.

Just started watching the game on DVR. I remember being told this summer that Pat would never bring Simmons off the bench when I suggested she would be coming off the bench this season in a 6th man role that more naturally suited her tendencies. Pat is no stranger to shuffling starting lineups so Simmons may eventually start at some point, but at least I can begin the season not feeling too stupid.

I suspect this is some of yall's first chance seeing Miami in action. They are playing their normal style. Run and gun, taking alot of risks on defense, and tons of quick shots and 3 point attempts. Entertaining team to watch, especially when someone wants to run with them.

It's either Spani or Simmons and Spani doesn't look she'll be giving up that starting spot.

So much for that. Stricklen sits to start the 2nd half and Simmons starts. Summitt is not messing around this year.

Yeah, well Stricklen was pretty much the worst player on the floor in the first half. For both teams.

I wish this game was on a neutral court in Oregon. These gotta be sec officials.
