Temporary Seating for the Michigan Game...

My optomistic side says why spend the money for one game when you could set up the temp seats for both the Maryland and Michigan games, one week early. It would suck to see empty seats for UMD, but I am optomistically hoping both games have people packed to the rafters!

I'm just happy denard robbinson won't be on the field.
Is he coming out for the draft? I thought that this season will be his redshirt Senior season. He now plays a wide receiver position. Be careful what you wish for. His replacement is a better qb than Robinson.

Would be nice to see a packed house for FHCRE's "homecoming".

Joe D., on WTIC Sportstalk just announced that temporary seating will be added for the game against the Wolverines. It will bring seating capacity to 42,500.

Only 2,500 extra seats? Seriously? How about bringing that up at least to 45K? Gosh is everything with this program measure in "incremental small"?

Anyone who has ever experienced a sell out at Rentschler realizes the seating other than chair back is beyond very crowded.
The seating is very narrow where anyone sits on a bench type seat. quote]

I have to disagree. I'm actually surprised by the width you get there. My UConn seat cushion fits easily within my alotted space. It's luxury compared to Michigan, ND or Gampel.
What I suspect happens during the sellouts sometimes is that slobs try to sneak an extra person in a row.

This seats at the rent? I was at that Michigan game and those are some seriously narrow seats. The rents are like frickin lazyboys compared to that.

My brother and I were blown away by how tight seating was at UF. Our knees were buried in the backs of the people in front of us. When we got up to go the bathroom we literally kneed like 10 people in back of head. We were watching Vandy - Florida and left after 1st QTR to watch the UConn - Cinci game that was on ABC primetime back when we were relevant. We were both very appreciative of the Rent post that trip in terms of comfort of seating.

Great news!! If UConn can get close to 50K with extra seats and SRO tickets that means that the capacity after potential expansion could be well over 60K if necessary. Still waiting to see the true architects rendering of the expanded Rent. It has to be somewhere,

Good idea. But goes against the only way to get tickets is season tickets... Unless they really limit those tickets to season ticket add ons.

I don't think they are planning to sell out the stadium on season tickets. I think what they are telling us is that single game tickets for Michigan will only be sold to (or through) season ticket holders. At least, that is the only think that makes sense.

That first half in Ann Arbor was still one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. That we were still in the game after that display of Robinson running the football is hard to understand.

I didn't matter if Michigan had third-and-twenty-five. They would run the QB draw and UConn would act like they never saw it before.

I still believe in my heart that if DJ had not fumbled in the red zone, we end up winning the game. Obviously, we will never know that and there is no way to prove that...but I really do believe that in my heart. I still get frustrated talking about it!

Yes and Mike Smith drop right in front of us. Two big plays that made the score look much worse that it would have been had we made them.

We figured out Robinson better in the second half. Lutrus was playing hurt and that was a big problem that we could not afford.

Never forget it though.

I never understood that mentality. I'm a big fan of SRO or standing areas. I think it'd be great for Uconn to sell about 500 SRO's every game.

It allows fans who don't want to be anchored down to their seats to enjoy the game while standing and relaxing.

No worries of some blue hair wanking about sitting down in front or any of that crap.

I don't think those of us who have seats should be using them anyway. We should all be standing...but that's just me.

I can clap and yell and cheer just as loud sitting as standing. The knees can't take standing for the whole game. I sit next to some people who almost never even clap. It drives me nuts.

Why can't we move our band onto the field in front of the student section and add temporary bleachers to the happy hour area? Methinks the capacity could get to 50,000 in this scenario.

the key here is that the seats will be 4k for sure added right? thats the "seating" capacity but not overall. that was the catch in joe d's way to explain it. so 4k + the 40k is 44k for sure and maybe more acording to silver tweets. that prob is based off demand. maybe band on the field type stuff and seats in front of student section.

here is what is in play and what i want. its 44k for sure. bc's stadium is 44, 500 seats. i looked it up and couldn't find anywhere a sell out big game # passed that for like a game vs nd or fsu that they have had. so i asume 44,500 is the #. we need to figure out how to get above that. i dont care if its by one chair or 500 or 3k. figure that out. either school can turn around and play a game in fenway, the razor, yanks, mets, metlife. but for home stadium i want to be the official bigger possible seating setup. i want that to be vs a b10 team and i want it to be a glorious school with big tradition and history with many new england alums. everything is set up to make noise. i dont give a how bad or good the team is. we need that # to be more than bc puts in alumni. wake the inner beast up warde or get on the plance with the michigan team when they leave.

Wow, must be some new meds involved. This was just a couple of days ago...

No, I'm pretty sure you promised to not give UConn a dime of your money until P was fired. Unless you're still following through with that promise, you're no different than the rest of us.

i have not gone to a game live since. i watch them on tv.

So you decided to become part of the problem rather than that of the solution...
You say here is what is in play and what i want. So it is up to the rest of us to fulfill your dreams while you watch from home?????????

thats what im saying, so they are adding 4k seats to bring the seating capacity to 42,500 right???? so the actual total number will be atleast 44k??? thats walk arounds and security and all that stuff? am i right or worng? just trying to get a #....if i'm right, i would like us to get atleast 1 seat above bcs capacity, that would be major news to sell.

Row 80 baby...
The seat I bought was in like its own row in corner I'm pretty sure like 205, but I only sat there for like one quarter. I always sat with my friend and his dad in his much nicer seats :-).

Moving the band onto the field is just plain disrespectful. If it was actually proposed I would hope the band would boycott the game.

It's interesting we are talking about seating capacity when we haven't sold the place out recently. I hope that this will not be a concern with this game and that Michigan fans will struggle to find tickets to the game. Unfortunately, I don't think that will be the case based on our recent showings. However, their fans will be treated to a first class viewing experience as compared to what our fans got there. Every seat and every standing space will provide a great view of action on the field. I hope our team rises to this historic occasion and our fans do as well. It is a great opportunity to show what we are as a football school to an important member of the B1G. Can't wait to attend this game!

CTs casual sports fan will come out in droves for this game. There unfortunately are a lot more of them in this state than die hards.
