Temple coming to the BE?

Geno has been promoting this for some time.....

That would be ideal for Tonya's career development path, she could move up to "power conference" coaching while staying with the program she's been building, and the players she's recruited and developed.

i think this would be great. i'm not sure why some of the fans of the guys teams aren't keen on it (football and hoops), but the MCBB program was pretty good when Cheney was there (one of my all time favorite rants was when he went off on Calipari), the football team rose a lot under Golden, and the WHoops team, of course, has Tonya... IIRC 'nova didn't want them in the league. tough crap for them.

As much as I love Tonya, they bring next to nothing football-wise. Yes, they've improved somewhat relative to the end of their previous tenure in the BEast, but they still bring no brand and no market share. MBB is solid, but doesn't replace what the Big East is losing.

Really hoping UConn can get out of the BE.

It does not replace what the Big East has lost, but they bring enough to make them valuable and, wonder of wonders, they are on the East Coast. I don't care a whit about football, so from my admittedly narrow perspective, Temple is a wonderful addition.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like thats going to happen. I to would love to see UCONN in the ACC!

Really hoped that would have happened by now.

Someone on the Rutgers board actually listed the "future" BE (for "all sports") and came up with 18 teams. That is WAY too many teams in a conference - I personally think 16 is a lot. Almost requires divisional play and teams not playing each other regular season - something that did / does? happen on the men's side amidst complaints galore.

Assume for the moment that next year WVU and Pitt and Syracuse are gone and that only Temple is added.....2 teams less than the current number.

Would that lead to each school playing not one opponent twice but 3?

UConn versus ND....Louisville....G'Town....home/home?

They would never do that, blake.
