A useful stat I have come across is the "game score stat line" that shows how effective/dominant a player is in each game. It calculates all the positive stats (pts scored, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) and subtracts the negative stats (FGA-FGM, FTA-FTM and Turnovers). You can get individual "averages by using the total stats and dividing each one by # of games played.
The highest individual totals I have seen in my 4 years of calculating this were
2024 Caitlin Clark with a 32.1
2023 Angel Reese with a 31.8
2023 Caitlin Clark with a 30.2
By contrast
2024 Paige Bueckers 25.1
2025 Paige Bueckers 23.6
2026 Sarah Strong 26.0
2025 Sarah Strong 30.6 (she's already near the top 3)
2026 Azzi Fudd 18.7 (her turnovers are killing her score (28 Assists to 16 Turnovers)
2025 Azzi Fudd 12.2
You can use the calculations for the whole team as well as it shows a single game score average. I compared last year to this year and then I also looked up the 2015 & 2016 teams for fun. Here are the results
2025 Team 110.8 (40 games/13 players) 81.7 pts per game-with only 3 players with GS > 10 (Paige/Sarah/Azzi)
2026 Team 126.0 (9 games/14 players) 91 pts per game- with 5 players with GS >10 (Sarah/Azzi/KK/Serah/Blanca), Heckel at 9.9, Allie at 8.4, Ash at 8.1
2015 Team 126.1 (39 games/12 players) 89.3 pts Stewie with GS 22.1 with 7 players GS>10 (Stewie/KML/Tuck/Jefferson/Nurse/Gabby and Kia Stokes)
2016 Team 121.7 (38 games/12 players) 86.5 pts Stewie had a GS of 29.6
While it is still early in the year, this year's team does have the capability to be an all-time great.
The 2015 season was phenomenal with the core being together for their 3rd year. Wait until Blanca, Serah and K9 get more time together....
