Wouldn't it be more relevant to compare our recent sucess against Duke? Don't really think Roscoe or Daniel's have any bearing on Hurleys battles with them.
 
Duck Fuke. If you want to land 5* players, you have to compete with the big boys. It's all part of the recruiting game. Just makes it more critical to get in early for local elite talent and make an impression before the Duke's and Kentucky's of the world get involved.

When RS and DD came here we were a "name" national power with a legendary coach so, even with the legendary "K" at Duke, we had a chance.
No legends here since 2014, but if Dan Hurley continues the uptrend in wins and recognition, doors will open wider.
Plus, for all the talk that Scheyer will easily assume the mantle he has never been a head coach and, even though the legend chose him (as with KO at UConn), he'll have to win big right away or he'll be de-throned as quickly as Matt Doherty at uNC and Steve Alford at UCLA.
It won't even take losing seasons for a change to be made, unless Hubert Davis struggles at the same time
 
Let's see if AK has been taking notes from Sool. Seems like TBB has Brewster teammates/AAU teammates with UConn "leans".. He'll continue to attract offers from top programs but he's sayin' all of the right things about his vibe with UConn.

Helps that we were in early with TBB-Seems like a kid who will put value on that

For the most part, Yes, but the post was in response to someone who had written "never."

I'm willing to accept that consensus that Duke prioritized Ewing or Ben, but there is definitely some story that gave rise to my prior impression and that of others that Ben chose UConn over Duke.

Can someone provide greater clarity here?
