Could probably have been a UConn signee if Geno didn't ask her to take her time. According to reports.

Something tells me that UCONN will be just fine ;)

Interesting... I dont think she was the player of the year in Indiana.... at least not the gatorade poy.

I've always felt that Mavunga was the better player. For some reason, Reimer has not impressed me when I've seen her play.

Do you think Mavunga can play the 5 in college? She might not have a choice.

Are we absolutely positively sure that Geno did this? Do we have a confirm report that this is how it happened???

Reimer was very impressive when I've seen her. Would have been fun to watch her battle Tuck for three years. The remind me a lot of each other.

Did not see the link where Geno dropped the ball. Then again if he did maybe he learned a lesson from EDD.
Not only did we lose the player of the year but who ever may have gone elsewhere once she signed here....
I know, Geno has won 7 big ones and is still a dummy to some.....

Not sure there is a link since coaches can't officially talk about recruits until they signed. However, Geno did say that to Taya. He's done it with other recruits as well, as he doesn't like to accept verbals from players prior to their Junior year.

Her school is 10 minutes from my house. I am on the "not overly impressed" list. I have seen her play really well but I have seen her play many more stinkers. She would rather play on the outside than in the post - I think this is why Geno did not pursue her as much as he could have. Remember the statement Geno made during a Geno show last year when he returned from her game last year and complained about a big not willing to compete for rebounds and play inside. Her team never won a sectional in Indiana (the initial round of the state tournament). I don't understand how you can be that good and not lead your team success.

Anthony Davis's high school only won 8, then 9 games his junior & senior seasons.

Would have been nice if they had given the readers at least some background on Wooten.

How many "GREAT - ie, National Top 5 players" for the girls side have seen not have some measure of success in the High School ranks. I understand there are times other teams are just better, but her team is 66-21 during her High School career including 10 losses her first year and 20-1 her Junior season.

.Mavunga won Indiana's Miss Basketball award today. She beat out Reimer in a close vote 79-74.

Hi Triad!

Having had the opportunity to see both Mavunga, and Reimer play, Mavunga is clearly the better, now how that translates in College is a whole different story. I could see Maunga playing the five, but she is perfect for the 4. Hatchell got a good one.

I don't follow girls' high school basketball closely at all, so the only one I can name is Reimer;)
....but I do think she was successful, just not with her high school's team.

I still am not sold on RusselL. When I watched her in international play she never looked like the best player on Team USA, IMO. I think DeShields is the best player in this class and will be the FOY.
