Preserve his health and maybe the season- give him the rest he needs. I’m happy with Reibe’s play, Braylon is more ready to launch than ever, and UConn is really solid at every position. Having Reed play when not 100% is not worth the risk

If playing could cause more damage, you sit. If it's a pain threshold, you let him play if he feels up to it.
Exactly. He wouldn’t be playing if there’s a risk of more damage. That’s why I don’t understand people saying to rest him. Minutes restriction, for sure. Same with Mullins although it sounds like he’s good.

Ankle stuff becomes chronic if it doesn't heal, then strengthen. Best case is he is in a cycle of light it up, calm it down, worst case is he rolls it again and it becomes more susceptible to rerolling the next time he rehabs and returns. Better off taking the poison now in a small dose and surviving than taking a big dose later and dying(No Tarris when you need him). Tough call, delicate balance, but all you need is a 6 week healthy runup to tourney time and he's be raring to go 100% healthy. Basically Feb 1st gives him 6 weeks to the BE Tourney. Extreme yes, 100% healthy and ankle strong, probably.

I actually think our OOC games are more important than BE games.

We don’t play StJ until February - these are the games that matter. We can sleepwalk through the BE slate to rest players. This should be our hardest game left, and most valuable. I’m sure another 15-20 minutes isn’t going to go chronic on him.
