Targeting penalty-Kicked out of the game

I get that everyone is worried about safety but this is a horrible rule. You should only be kicked out of the game if there is clear malicious intent. I'm watching Utah State Wisky and Utah State's best defender just got kicked out for another hit where he tried to lead with the shoulder and a little helmet got in there. Nothing malicious about it but the way the rule is written any kind of helmet contact leaves you screwed. I don't know how I would have tackled if all these rules were around when I played.

I used to love the sport but it really has become a much worse game to watch.
