This from the Wichita Eagle. When your hometown newspaper buries the story of your big loss (and they did) that’s one thing. But when that same paper can’t correctly identify you as coach, you can rightly feel disrespected. Isn’t that right, Keitha Adams?

Unbelievable. I guess no "news medium" uses editors anymore. Sad.

Linda Hargrove took over for Jody Birch-Adams in January of 2017 after transfers and player complaints forced Birch-Adams out. I am not sure if the truth of the matter was ever ascertained, but it was an ugly mess. Birch -Adams was the most successful women’s coach in WSU history in a program that has faced apathy and been completely overshadowed by the men’s program under Greg Marshall.

Jody Adams-Birch out at Wichita State, replaced by Linda Hargrove for rest of season

If you happened to look at the sports section of the Wichita Eagle today, the prominent lead story was the Shockers mens team beat down of the UConn men at Koch Arena.

As noted, almost no mention of the women’s team. Hard to rationalize such obvious indifference to women’s sports in the hometown newspaper.

It's like that here in St. Louis.

Sadly, yes. But I can tell you that staff downsizing is still happening throughout the newspaper industry. Today, the person who writes the story often does his/her own event photography, their own layout, their own editing, and more. And they do it for salaries that most of us would walk away from. My son-in-law was an award-winning sports writer who left that job for one in high tech. He doubled his salary on day one. I, for one, appreciate the men and women who cover the Huskies. They do pretty good work in what are often pretty lousy circumstances.
