If we get MAL (which yes pls) would we still have a shot at Beatty? Or any other guard we are recruiting?

Well we can't land everyone, there's still Diallo, Scruggs, Beatty and Waters

I like Beatty. Never hurts to have a few players with an attitude on the court like his. Reminds me of boat, in the aspect of their mentalities.

I think KO views him as more of a 2 and is still playing the field there.

I would think either Beatty or Diallo could easily coexist with MAL. MAL I could see being more of point. Beatty is pretty much a pure scoring 2. Diallo is also listed as a SG but I would think could get minutes at the 3 as well. These would all be great problems to have....We could really use some dominoes to fall for 2017 to get the ball rolling.

Beatty is a scoring guard that can be a 2/3. Great piece of a 3 guard lineup. Plenty of room for him.

We play 2 PGs at a time. In theory, we should be getting a stud PG every year -- 2 starters and a freshman backup, each of them stays 3 years and goes pro.

For example, in 2017-18 we could have:
Adams (AA junior combo guard)
Gilbert (stud sophomore PG)
MAL (exciting freshman PG off the bench)

Then Adams goes to the League and we add a new stud in 2018. Rinse. Repeat. Add a 4-year steady role player like Vital and the 1/2 positions are spoken for.

Beatty is more of a 1/2 than a 2/3

I see Beatty as a combo guard with the ability to play some 1 in a pinch but he clearly projects as a swingman, more so than a pg. He is a perimeter player that can get to the rim but creating for others is not a strength. He is a scorer and despite a few writers calling him a pg now and then, he is not a natural point.

I also like Beatty. Seems like a tough guard who really likes UConn.

Just get MAL and we can talk about other blue chips after.

Exactly. No more grains of salt or recruiting is fluid. LOCK MAL UP!!! He would be a a huge first commit to 2017. Then we can build from there. But he is the foundation!

Is their any other who's expressed interest in playing with MAL in college?

I dont think anyone has openly said they would like to play with MAL in college but I would assume AJ Reeves would...

Never mind I found it is this weekend in the other thread. Stopped reading after it had devolved into PeeCee trolling

Can anyone summarize where we are with various kids? My twitter is just blowing up with Zags and others saying yet another top kid has us in his top 3-4-5. It's another one every day. Ollie seems to be everywhere. I'm not even sure who I should be hoping we get at this point.

It would be nice to get either one but Richard's seems to be a fruit lean, Bamba not sure, doesn't seem likely. Who's next? Carlton and who.
