Alright my friends: You've been salivating for it! IT''s time to post it:
Theme: Labor Day Picnic

As most of my crew is still in the full day work force & I am now semi-retired, I will supply most of the food for opening night:
Assorted Dogs & Brats: Pearl Dogs, White Brats from Nowak's in Meriden, Kielbasa from Filipek's in Meriden, Johnson's "Firecracker" Brats from July 4th era (Currently saved & stored in the freezer),
Burgers-Nuff said
Garden is giving back-fresh tomatos, cukes for salad. cole slaw from freshly picked cabbages, kale salad (wife made this all summer: kale, raisens or craisens, apple, shredded carrot, with an homemade orange flavored vinagrette)

Preferred Beer choices for Wagner Game: Brooklyn Brewing or Blue Point: While on vacation last week in Madison, I had breakfast at Christie's (another story for another time). On tap they had Blue Point New York Yankees Pils. It's now been coachcap tested. I asked my local package store to put it in stock. If it comes through, I will bring some. Otherwise it's time for Hoptical Illusion & something special brom B.B. for me.

When the crew gets together this weekend, I will post any add ons & desserts!

Don't like my clams, steamers, and open faced NY Strip idea, huh?

That sounds great also. Will see what other members of tailgate crew are bringing.

Going w/ Sausage & Peppers grinders for the main dish.

Lots of beers... and some apps too (not sure what yet, but maybe some Buffalo Chicken dip)

Cristy's in Westbrook? One of the great breakfast places in CT. Their lobster eggs Benedict is a heart attack on a plate and love their pancakes.

No, Christie's in Madison, formerly the Dolly Madison Inn. This is Christie's 2nd location according to their menu.

Bringing a cooler to work tomorrow and going shopping at lunch. I'll get everything except clams and steamers, which I'll pick up at Louie's in Colchester on my way to East Hartford on Thursday. A few guys are not into shellfish, so I'll grill up some chicken strips with various sauces.

Given how absurd the drive always is from Stamford to the Rent on the Thursday before Labor Day, I will have to figure out what the easiest menu I can have is so that when I get to the Rent much later than anticipated I'm not panicked.

Just picking up sandwiches at the favorite local deli and stopping at the local brewery for the beer.
