It's been a while since we've had a breakfast tailgate!
Both teams colors are National Flag Blue & White with UConn having additional RED accents So Mrs. coachcap Decided:
Blueberry, raspberry, or blackberry (or combos) pancakes (Shoppers hint-this week at Stop & Shop all 3 are a 3 for mix & match sale)
-Breakfast sausages from Filipek's butcher shop of Meriden
-bacon
-cheesy potato casserole
-egg sandwiches on kaiser rolls
-apple cider
-apple cider doughnuts
-apple coffee cake
-Mimosas
-Bloody Marys
& BEER
(We MAY have some surprise last minute additions to the menu)

You should grab some hot dogs at the butcher shop and eat those just before entry. Nothing beats a good tailgate hot dog.

I am able to break the grill out tomorrow for the first time this season. Will emulate CoachCap and do a breakfast:

first course -- mini bagles and yogurt/granola/berry parfaits
main course -- french toast and bacon
beverages -- mimosas and beers

And my UConn loyalty is totally unaffected by the fact that they're playing a school I have a degree from.

Recipe: The Yale Cocktail

Ingredients
  • 2 ounces dry gin
  • ¾ ounce Crème Yvette or crème de violette
  • ¼ ounce maraschino liqueur
  • ¼ ounce dry vermouth
  • dash of orange bitters
  • lemon twist or wedge for garnish (optional)
Procedure
  1. Place all ingredients (except garnish) in a mixing glass half-filled with ice. Stir briskly until well chilled (20 to 30 seconds).
  2. Strain into a cocktail glass, preferably one that has been chilled. Garnish (if desired) and serve.
