Due to work schedules of some of the Crew, we will be arriving at Blue Lot @ 4:30.
We decided to keep it simple.
Each couple will bring their own sandwiches, grinders, or whatever they wish to dine on.
(I'm getting a meatball grinder with green peppers & onions)
Mrs. coachcap will make a peach dessert.
And Beverages!

Eat to Win!

Because of the grilling ban, I am going to pick up takeout. Haven't decided yet.

Southern Fried Chicken would seem to bee the choice. They can''t make pizza in Georgia and we can't make SFC in Connecticut.

Keeping it simple. Small crew today.

Smash burgers w/cheddar or gouda on brioche buns
Tortellini salad
Veggie plate/dip
Artichoke dip (homemade)
Chips, etc.

And for fun...beer and Single Chair Distilleries Limoncello or Orangecello served via the legendary UConn shot ski! A fan fave.

Grilling ban? Usually propane appliances are not banned. Did I miss something? Need to look further now...
EDIT: I'm in touch with the Fire Marshal and will update this shortly.
EDIT: Spoke with authorities. Bring your propane grill and use caution as always.

Is anyone bringing Grits in honor of Georgia
After googling, it may just be for state parks and forests. The way they worded it on the news made it sound like everywhere. I may have been misled by the news.

Technically there is a ban. However, opinion is that propane grills are purpose-built cooking devices that don't emit an open flame beyond the device and no ember threat. Let's just be careful and don't poke the bear.

About 15 years ago, some guys near us in the blue lot had a turkey fryer set up. Ignored the inviolable rule of the method, know the capacity of your pot, the size/weight/volume of the bird, and carefully calculate amount of oil necessary. Dropped the turkey, oil immediately boiled over, set the rig on fire. East Hartford FD comes roaring up on a large ATV/Golf Cart that had been converted to a mini fire engine, put out the blaze with extinguishers and then slap the guys with a ticket for an "open flame violation." I can't remember but it was at least $500. Dudes were probably lucky the EHFD didn't check BAC also!
