Wife is slow cooking a pork butt in barbecue sauce for pulled pork sandwiches. Among the desserts, apple cobbler & pumpkin bread. Assorted sides (cole slaw, potato salad, fruit salad)
libation of choice-Clipper City of Baltimore because of the pirate cartoons on the labels.

Starting it at home..then putting it into a Cambro Hot box..(basically a cooler that holds chafing dish pans) to finish off on my 1:45 ride to the Rent...I'll use my 3 burner blind stove instead of the grill this wk...

About how long do you cook it at home? Or to what temperature?

Pulling it off at 125 then wrapping it up tightly with foil. That will give me medium rare when I cut it.

Won't be making the game as my wife is scheduled to be giving birth to my son on Thursday night/Friday! I'll be at the hospetial rooting on the boys from New Haven, wearing my UConn gear, and I have a little UConn cap for the baby whenever he arrives even! Should be a pretty unforgetable weekend no matter what the score is Friday night for me. GO HUSKIES!

Sounds like poor planning on your part.

You guys are rookies. I've had three kids since 2009. First one was in late October and I was planning on missing the game the weekend she was due but she came early. I had a whole week of paternity time once we were home so I went anyway. It was a close call though hence the reason the latter two kids were born in the offseason.

Don't do Carolina BBQ coach. It is awful. Call an audible and make sure it's Kansas City BBQ and attach it to the Royals being in the WS.

Wife takes the pork butt, throws on some Sweet Baby Ray's & lets it slow cook overnight in the crock pot. It ends up tasting great (but would be better if she let me throw in some chopped onions).

Best wishes for an easy delivery, good health for Mom and baby, and a UConn win! Any names picked out? I recommend Donald or Jasper.

You wanna know something? I missed multiple games during the 2013 season too. My daughter was born... I didn't learn my lesson I guess.
I can tell you from experience, in what will seem like a couple of years you'll be sending them off to college. Congrats and enjoy every second of their childhoods!

My eyes caught the first five words and I stopped to read the rest. Dirty mind I guess. I would add the onions, too!

My son was originally due in late August 20-something, 2012. If he had, I would have missed UMass and NC State. As it turned out, my wife was induced 3 weeks early. As luck would have it, I haven't missed a home game since and my son has come to 5 games over the last season and a half. Another baby boy is due this January (potentially December inducement). Alas, no bowl game road trip for H25.

Good luck to you, but mostly your wife ;).

Depends on what part of Carolina you are talking. I am not a fan of Eastern North Carolina BBQ (vinegar sauce), but the Carolina Gold South Carolina style can not be beat
