Bernie Fine is now under investigation for allegations of child sexual abuse. This was reported on local Harrisburg TV 21 last night. If connected to PSU this situation may indeed go national. Abuse is said to have happened at Fine's home, Syracuse basketball facilities, and on road trips. It all sounds too familiar. The allegations of abuse is said to have started in 1983. The victim is reported to now be 39 years old.

"Fine has been placed on administrative leave by Syracuse University pending further investigation.
An original investigation took place by the Syracuse Post-Standard and Outside the Lines in 2003, but could not go forward because no additional victims stepped forward. ....

There are some similarities, however it is important to note these are still only allegations at this time.
Jim Boeheim, the head coach at Syracuse, is on the offense saying this claims are complete lies, that the University looked into them in the past and no one could corroborate his story."

If nothing else, the national attention should stem the tide of all this reprehensible abuse. It has been swept under the rug far too often for far too long.

There is a very familiar name mentioned in relation to this story, Dennis DuVal, the former Syracuse Chief of Police, with whom I grew up; One heckuca basketball player, incredible court vision.

One thing that doesn't add up from the investigation 8 years ago. The primary accuser states that he had 4 witnesses to corroborate his story, but when all 4 are questioned they all totally deny it...so why would the accuser choose those 4 witnesses if they had truly not seen anything? and why did this story not make it to the light of day 8 years ago?

None of us know what the truth is at this point. However it is not difficult to conjure up a scenario where four witnesses all deny knowing anything, even if they actually know a lot. Assume for example that they were coaches/players with allegiance to Boeheim. Or assume they were school officials who should have turned him in but didn't.

Again, not saying he is guilty. Unlike the Sandusky case, I have no idea.
