You serious? And we played them tough 3 times. Good enough for me.
Sometimes your best isn't enough. (Not saying that they played their best this time around)
I don't think Syracuse has any chance at winning a title this year without a favorable draw. Not enough top level talent (rare to win a title without a lottery pick or two on your roster) and a gimmicky defense that is just dying to be exposed by some hot shooting team in the tourney.
Many of those top teams can't shoot from the perimeter.I don't think Syracuse has any chance at winning a title this year without a favorable draw. Gimmicky defense? That gimmicky defense just got us 30 wins this season.
I agree, I don't think Kentucky, UNC, or Syracuse will be there at the end. I like Michigan State. They've been under the radar all year and are an excellent team. Most teams don't play against a zone like Cuse can throw at ya. The back line of the zone became more active in the last 10 min and that stopped the interior bleeding. They are a FF team , but maybe with a little luck.... They can beat anyone and so can we and Ky, and Nc,. I don't think a # 1 survives to the final.
Here is their problem: they're PG can get rattled, and they have no depth inside.I would legitimately be shocked if Kentucky doesn't make the Final Four unless they get a really tough draw. They're so much more composed than any UK team under Cal and actually play great defense. Plus they have so many weapons that you basically can't stop them all. Other than that Indiana game where they shot like 60% from 3, no one has really come very close to beating them.
Its odd for me to say this about a team that is 31-1 but I dont think they make the elite 8. I just dont like the way they play.
We need to hope for good seeding. Some years there are weak 2 seeds. This year Duke and maybe Ohio State are weak. The problem with Duke is that you have to play them in Greensboro. That will be a problem. This is Cuse's best team EVER. They held us off 3 times, fair dues, they're really good, and really experienced. I still wouldn't be surprised if we are playing later than them in the tourney, that's just what we do.

What this team needed was to win, get to the finals, and coast into a 6 seed. Then they could get to a 2 seed like Duke on a neutral court and hope for chaos (a la Arizona over Duke, Kentucky over OSU, Butler over Pitt) on the other side of the bracket.Duke in Greensboro, with the refs, and their 3 point shooting is a terrifying thought.
Their depth is a killer. Every game we played them they had more left at the end than we did. They are an awful match-up for us expecially when they give you the middle and we can't hit shots. We will be a tough match for most other tourney teams. I just hope we don't run into Cuse early in the tourney. Given the number of BE teams that will get in it is going to be like last year with having to play other BE teams. And we played them tough 3 times. Good enough for me.
