An article in the Oregonian - www.oregonlive.com entitled "I'm just going to remember the feelings of Final Four run" has some very interesting comments about her experience playing UCONN. It is long article and covers other areas, but has the longest commentary I have read anywhere written by a star player who has experienced the UCONN approach to basketball. A good read for fellow Boneyarders looking for any new material.

This is the correct link:

Sydney Wiese's Oregon State diary: 'I'm going to just remember the feelings' of Final Four run

"From the beginning (of the UConn game), I had a sense of peace. I think we all did about that game. Just go in there, play loose, do what we know how to do. But I think once they just went on stretches of hitting shots so consistently — and it was coming from everybody — you're just like, "Well, shoot. What are we supposed to do? Do we send all of us at one player?" It's so tough to get them out of a rhythm. There was a point in the third quarter where Breanna Stewart hit two or three shots in a row. They were contested. She just hit shots and she knew her team needed those shots. "

Conn is UConn. They have their story that was surrounding them this whole season. But to be in that group that had this new experience (at the Final Four), it was sort of historic in a way. To go against UConn is historic, but it was cool to create our own history, as well, at the same time. To create our own noise and to be recognized nationally and to have that (USA Today Coaches poll) ranking come out (Wednesday) of being No. 2 in the country, I mean, who would have predicted that? Against the South Carolinas, the Notre Dames, even the run that Tennessee had at the end and all these great teams, to have it be UConn and Oregon State? I don't know, it's pretty surreal to see the progress that we've made throughout the years.
