After the Wyoming and Vandy games I was honestly proud of the effort and fight the kids put up. After UMass we saw the other side of what happens when a team is leaderless, ill-prepared and let down by people who are paid to lead and prepare young men. The players need to own the outcome and be held accountable. But, they are taught that through consistent, effective teaching and mentoring. AD Dave should have been working to ensure their success this week and instead let a bunch of incompetents run the team this week. It’s really a failure of ownership and accountability from AD Dave and Spanos to set up conditions for success. It’s been way too easy to accept bad luck and close your eyes and explain it away. No more. We owe the players better, and the players owe each other more.

These are all lame duck coaches. The season is what it is. A disaster plain and simple. AD Dave has to ensure this program doesn't continue to be rudderless going forward. Step 1 hire a coach with a plan, step 2, give him the financial wherewithal to put together a staff of worthwhile position coaches and coordinators.

It’s not the players fault. The players on this roster just don’t have the talent or athletic ability to compete at the D1 level. This mess is the responsibility of the coaching staff. They recruited D2 and D3 level players to compete against D1 competition. The players are doing the best they can. they’re just in way over their heads.

The moment I heard who was out due to covid I was not confident we would play well. The years original OC DC and now the interim HC as well as the tight ends coach plus our best O-lineman. We looked flat from the opening kick but rebounded, took the lead then Jackson dropping the pick 6 did not help. Need easy scores. We definitely owe the players better. Whatever was wrong to have us wind up at this point was not recognized or acted on soon enough. AD Dave on the sidelines to support the team as we are stuck in this hell was the right thing to do. This is solvable with the right hire.

……….and back him up on his choices for head coach this time around.

I guess his being on the sidelines with team wasn’t enough for you.

I have complete confidence in AD Dave. No reason not to. IMO He’ll do a good job finding a new coach.

what a lie. It’s just unbelievable what is written on this board.

you have people at major publications who are paid to do nothing but embarrass mock humiliate and shame our players on a weekly basis. Our players can’t be bothered to on one Saturday stand up for themselves and get a W. That says everything about them.

and don’t you dare try saying the holy Cross, Wyoming, Vanderbilt, and umass games weren’t winnable. Because they were. We saw them.

I was at the UMass game. It was not winnable. UMass was the better team from the opening drive. UConn was kept in the game only because the UMass coaches are morons. The UConn defense couldn’t stop the run and yet UMass stopped running the ball. If they kept their dual threat QB (#6) in the game they would have won by 30+ points.

I agree with a lot of your thoughts on this stuff but yesterday was just weird. On offense, we simply weren’t put in position to win. There is no chance with play calling like that. The D was lousy and flat. No argument there.
