Hope everyone here (Northeast) made it through Sunday Morning. I drove from Fairfield to Amherst at 9:30 and it took 3 1/2 hours to get there. My car was a block of ice; wipers, mirrors, frames, etc..
I had no idea for the 1st 30 minutes that I was literally driving on black ice. I saw pile ups, about 3o crashes, cars spinning their wheels, and on one car pileup drivers crawling on the highway to get to safety. A couple of tractor trailers skidded through barriers/guardrails to the other side. It was horrific.
I had to drive 30 mph with my heart in my mouth it was so scary. About an hour in I wanted to turn around, but getting off the highway proved challenging as there were numerous accidents with cars unable to stop.
I did pull over for a minute and almost broke my arse to get a cup of coffee.
Been around a long time, many snow and ice storms but Sunday's seemed to be strange, I mean very strange.
Like I said I hope you all stayed in and/or safe.
