Duke and Cal @ 6pm on ESPNU.

#14 Dayton getting all it can handle at Iowa down 77-65 with about 9 minutes to go.

Any guesses on the outcome of the Duke and Cal game?.........My gut reaction is it will be close........How is Call this year?

I expect Duke to win easily, but I am somewhat anxious to see how Cal looks this season.

#14 Dayton goes down to Iowa 97-93 in OT

Until they prove to me otherwise I consider Duke to be overrated at #2, so I'll be surprised if Duke wins easily.

#18 Purdue edged Ball St, 63-57
Ohio St almost blew a 22 pt lead, holding off Florida Atlantic, 91-88
Miami lost to Richmond 57-50

Oklahoma beat Wichita St. 89-70. Sharane Campbell had 24 for OU

Lordy - Georgia only managed to score 45. Against Presbyterian! Granted, Pres. was better last year (great victory over Liberty), but the shouldn't even be close to tough competition for a top 25 team.

I was just coming to post this. Georgia wins 45–30, and no, that's not the halftime score.

And this is with the new rules opening up the offense and promoting increased movement. Last year the score would have 35-20.

That would have been a pitchers' duel. So this year we got a slugfest.

The Georgia/Presbyterian game today has set this season’s opening standard for “Worst Game of the Year” (29 total points in the first half.) The Dayton/Iowa game, on the other hand, sets the bar pretty high for “Most Entertaining Game of the Year.” (190 points scored!) Unimpressive wins by ranked teams: Georgia, Penn St., Purdue, Tenn.

I looked at that score a couple of times, anticipating the start of the second half. Then I realized it was a final score :eek::eek:

Obviously, a bad win for Ohio St., but their first win was an excellent one, as West Virginia was considered a top Big 12 contender and the Buckeyes won in Morgantown with 3 of their bigs fouling out (and still only 8 Buckeyes played, as McGuff inherited a small roster.)

That loss to Richmond has to hurt Meier. Yikes.

She looks a lot like my youngest did at this age. Unfortunately when she got her license to drive real cars, she was still carefree until smacking into someone in a parking lot. Lesson learned - now she's a great driver. And she still prefers to drive a standard shift!
