I AM PUMPED!! Is anything (other than bringing home a Chip or a Cup) better than beating Laimbeer and Cambage? [Hint: NO!]

Never in my wildest did I think we'd be 5-0 rolling into Seattle. Another quick start by the Sun off the tip (I think 11-2) and they held off the Aces later surges even with poor shooting out of the backcourt for most of the game. Once again the Sun dominated the boards and that was the critical difference.

Brionna Jones continues to be incredibly solid inside despite being out-talled in every game. She has come a long way since her rookie season and should be very proud of her development. Great effort was always her thing, and now we are seeing continued improvement in her footwork, conditioning and finishing skills. She clearly has been working with AT on that spin move and she even popped a couple mid-range jumpers. I was fortunate to meet Bri her rookie year and she seems like a great young woman. I'm really happy for her.

JJ recorded another dud-dub (ho-hum). 43 in her career, 4 out of 5 games this year (the first game she scored 26 but "only" got 8 boards).

Can't forget to give kudos to Dee Bonner... leading the way with 22 and 7. Never liked her in a Merc uni... it's all about the laundry I guess. :p

My gosh, how good would these guys be with a healthy AT?

On to the ever-excellent Seattle! These schedules in the W are BRUTAL!! No rest for my butterflies!

Curt better not turn his back on the sidelines during the next game between these teams.

In every game so far the Sun have played with a greater intensity than their opponents, especially on defense. As the season progresses, the best teams will ramp up the intensity and get better. I think the Sun are starting out closer to their ceiling than some other teams (a credit to the coaches and players alike). I see a key to success being more development of the bench. Carrington could take the biggest developmental step up before the season is over and that would be a big help. Mompriemier seems to have improved from last year, but I'm a little disappointed in Charles on the offensive side. We need her to be a bigger offensive threat off the bench to be a solid playoff team, I think.

I'm getting the feeling this fella knows how to coach. He has this team playing team ball.
Yes he sure does! It's funny, you look at the other teams and see lots of star power and don't expect the sun to be this good. But I think the team chemistry and the continuity of personnel has helped a lot! I feel like there have been lots of changes in the other teams with the new CBA, but the Sun - relatively little in comparison. I think Curt knows what he has and how to use the pieces, and also gives them a chance to develop. I'll be honest, a few years ago, I didn't think Brionna Jones was going to last, and now look at the numbers she is posting!

Liz loves to play the victim, the more publicly the better. Curt was making a dumb (65lb) exaggeration to make a point to a ref about a call. Bad form perhaps and worthy of an apology if offense is taken, but not as bad as the direct and hurtful comments Liz made to Stef Dolson regarding her physical appearance. Liz's comments regarding Curt's physical stature and race were aimed at him directly and PUBLICLY with the intention to hurt. Far worse. Liz is flinging stones within her glass house.

I thought the same thing... did Liz really think this would help the situation? Not to mention she did this outside the heat of the moment, and decided to body shame a man who is a part of the gay community, where they already experience rampant body shaming. Doesn't really come off as a productive way to address this. Wouldn't have minded if she pulled a Renee Montgomery and respectfully offered to have a conversation with Curt.

Curt is a bit of a madman on the sideline. I hope he puts this gaffe in his RVM quickly, no big deal.

I don't agree at all that Miller's comment to the referee was no big deal. He deserved the fine and suspension.

That said, Cambage's comments in response were totally uncalled for, especially since, as someone pointed out earlier in this thread, she had plenty of time to craft and think about that response.

Some time Laureen Jackson's patience with Liz is going to end, and Liz won't be playing for Australia or in their leagues. You can't keep embarrassing your home country and continue to play.

I understand Liz being upset. That being said, as a short (5’2”) white man... I’m offended by her comments. Curt should be too. If he’s being suspended, she should be too!

not a fan of Cambage but I'll just say that if this guy Curt Miller would be happy to hear his daughters sister or mom talk about a female the way he does, idc if it was to the ref or in a joking matter that garbage has no place in any sport.

Why no punishment for Cambage?
