I AM PUMPED!! Is anything (other than bringing home a Chip or a Cup) better than beating Laimbeer and Cambage? [Hint: NO!]
Never in my wildest did I think we'd be 5-0 rolling into Seattle. Another quick start by the Sun off the tip (I think 11-2) and they held off the Aces later surges even with poor shooting out of the backcourt for most of the game. Once again the Sun dominated the boards and that was the critical difference.
Brionna Jones continues to be incredibly solid inside despite being out-talled in every game. She has come a long way since her rookie season and should be very proud of her development. Great effort was always her thing, and now we are seeing continued improvement in her footwork, conditioning and finishing skills. She clearly has been working with AT on that spin move and she even popped a couple mid-range jumpers. I was fortunate to meet Bri her rookie year and she seems like a great young woman. I'm really happy for her.
JJ recorded another dud-dub (ho-hum). 43 in her career, 4 out of 5 games this year (the first game she scored 26 but "only" got 8 boards).
Can't forget to give kudos to Dee Bonner... leading the way with 22 and 7. Never liked her in a Merc uni... it's all about the laundry I guess.
My gosh, how good would these guys be with a healthy AT?
On to the ever-excellent Seattle! These schedules in the W are BRUTAL!! No rest for my butterflies!
