What can you say... a win is a win. A team with championship aspirations has to be better than that against a Charles-less NYL. Very disappointing.

Blew a 12 point lead and lost their minds in the 3rd with three consecutive technical fouls (Thomas, Thomas, Miller). :(

To control their own fate the Sun need to go 3-1 over the last 4 games to ensure the double bye. They have now clinched the first round bye.

One down three to go.

Wow, I've never heard of anything like that happening. Strange.

“JoJo Buckets” Johannes was really fun to watch in this game. She was an energizer battery with 21 points and 6 awesome assists. I love the way she throws the ball around finding open teammates underneath for easy buckets. She’s a nice find.
WNBA needs more like her with some flash to their game.

Alyssa Thomas is very interesting to watch. What a weird effective impressive game she has.

AT is unique. An undersized but powerful post, who certainly does not shy away from contact. At 6'2" she is called on to guard Charles, EDD, A'ja, etc. and does so effectively.

Virtually NO outside game, so when she gets into ATrain mode, rebounding and running downhill, everyone in the gym knows what she's going to do... but she is rarely stopped.

She is The Engine that powers the Sun.

If my math is correct, LA's loss vs the Aces means that the Sun can clinch the double bye with one victory in the next 3 games (Wings, Sky, and at Fever). In the unlikely event that the Mystics lose, the Sun is still alive for the #1 seed.

We'll see how the team comes out versus the Wings back at the Arena. Focused, assertive and intense, or flat and reactive. That will speak volumes about how ready the Sun are for the post season.

They're 2.5 games ahead of Vegas and 3 games ahead of LA with 3 games to play. They hold the tiebreaker over Vegas but not over LA, so the only way they drop from 2nd is if they lose all 3 and LA wins out.

LA does finish with 3 home games (vs. Seattle, Atlanta and Minnesota), so winning out for them is certainly feasible. But if Connecticut don't win at last one of the upcoming games against Dallas, Chicago and Indiana, they have bigger problems than seeding to worry about.

On the other side, the Sun hold the tiebreaker over the Mystics, so they only need Washington to lose one of their last 3 games to open the door to taking the #1 seed.

So... my math is correct.
