First wanna say that it seems UConn has set a national record for happiest/most excited fans of an 0-4 football team. Warde's decisiveness (too bad it wasn't last December, but better late than never) and TJ's enthusiasm and setting a new, upbeat, energetic tone from the get are to be vigorously applauded. How many people were looking forward to going to the South Florida game at 7 p.m. last Saturday? IMO, if TJ wins six and gets UConn to a bowl, the job is his. Warde should be equally decisive after the Memphis game and say if TJ is staying. Plenty of time to judge that; hope no search committee etc. etc. needed this time.
So sort of hate to look back. But the above line in Jacobs' column was excellent. So here's the story that mentions ALMOST all the folks he was referring to . . . ..

You can probably guess the one person who wasn't mentioned . . . . and whose name has not been uttered this week in all of the excitement.
Larry, PLEASE stay away if a search is needed. And tell your buddies in the CT HS FB coaches assn. their input won't be sought out nor valued this time, as it was the last time. . . .the last time
P.S. Jeff?????

As he listened to Pasqualoni responding to questions from reporters, a smile crossed the face of Larry McHugh, chairman of UConn’s Board of Trustees and a former Connecticut high school football coach.
“Most important to me is that he is a teaching coach and in fact his academic rate of graduation has been very, very good at Syracuse,” McHugh said. “There’s a lot of young coaches out there who can use Paul Pasqualoni as a role model; somebody who has had great success at every level and has come back home. I think that’s so important and to recognize the fact that Connecticut football has come so far, so quick. And Randy, Lew Perkins and Jeff deserve the credit for that.”
