I've scheduled jury duty during PD days. I've known staff to schedule minor surgery just to get out of that crapfest.

A buddy of mine is a PE teacher who is publicly certified and has experience also teaching in private schools.

Taught at my school for ~15 years before moving to another state. Now he’s back in CT, now living in the eastern part of the state.
