Still nothing on a new AD?

If you check out Warde Manuel's Wikipedia page, there is a spot that has his Uconn Huskies time line and when you click "show" it gives a listing of past and present AD's. Following Manuel's name is Rachel Rubin (2016-present). Take it for what its worth.

Rubin is the interim ad, basically Herbst'a right hand.

While I agree, IMO the process should not have started when WM announced he was leaving, but should've started months ago when he officially applied for the UM gig. While it would be odd to hire the new AD when both the incumbent and interim are sitting in their offices, I would hope we have an announcement before month's end.
No spitting match here gioff23 but this is really funny. If they were to do a search every time someone looked at another opportunity they would have been paying for and doing a search each and every one of Randy's last eight years. :D

Yeah I would think that Warde Manuel would have had a chat with President Herbst when he decided to apply for the Michigan job if for nothing else but professional courtesy. And....at that point she started to make preparations for the search for the next AD. I'll bet behind the scenes wheels were turning long before any public announcement was made. Hopefully the new guy/gal will be a super star everyone can be happy with. I am still wishing it would be Mike Aresco even though chances of that happening are slim to nil. But if I were pres I would have at least thrown that bone out there for him to bite on or refuse.
I am still wishing it would be Mike Aresco even though chances of that happening are slim to nil. Sharp as a tack today! ;) Not sure how many that have attained his stature are willing to take a 75% or more salary reduction.
This most always happens when you are getting someone coming back down the ladder. I hope to see another climber like Warde. :)

I'm sure you missed the "slim to nil" part but that's ok. I know he's not coming to Storrs but wishful thinking would suggest if he did it was because UConn was moving onto to B1Ger and better things and the raft they were on is sinking quick.

I gotta hand it to you..you come out with some obscure names...some good..some are of the W T F quality.
FDNY99, what would you categorize this as, good or W T F?

AD Ward made 350k + 100k bonus. At UM he starts at 800k. Any big time (p5) assistant AD is probably already making more than we can / will pay. Look for a young up and comer with ambition.

For this to be accurate, you'd have to believe Warde left Michigan as one of its top AD assistants, joined Buffalo at a pay cut, and still earned less as UConn's AD than in his prior Ann Arbor assistant AD role.

WM left UM 11 years ago. Since that time the money in college football has exploded upward. The UB + UC job were a step up at that point in time. Having "Head Man" on a resume is a big plus for some one with lofty goals.

Any word/rumors about the new AD? I know they'll keep it close to the vest but one of you multi talented Boneyarders should have bugged somebody's office by now ;)

You must be new to this college sports thing. Hiring an AD is nothing like hiring a coach.
