Where is he currently playing? How is he doing? Havnt heard much on him this year.
I love this post! I have been saying it since the Magic cut Sticks that if it wasn't for that bum Daniel Orton Stanley would have been in the league and would have made a minimum of 450,000 for that season. I hate to hear hes working in Willimantic again. All that talent and superior athleticism he shouldn't be working in the factory at 24 in his prime athletic body.Stanley should just try out for the Springfield Armour! It hurts to think what could have been. I have said it on this site before the best years were 06-07 ,07-08!!!He is currently working in Willimantic at the same plce he worked while at UConn. He is finally fully recovered from his achilles injury and has practiced with the team a couple times since being back in CT for hte past couple months.
Its my understanding his agent wasnt doing much for him in looking for something overseas or in a league somewhere. I think Calhoun has set him up with a new agent and he is looking to play in the Puerto Rico league that starts in June or something.
Calhoun has always been there ot help out Sticks and help him to get another opportunity to play basketball since he had a lot of bad luck since being drafted. He seems to be refocused and ready to get back to playing and hopefully find a way to the NBA.
Orton is the reason Sticks is not in the NBA today. Orton had a guaranteed contract and the Magic could not cut him so Sticks became the odd man out even though the coaches, Vince, Dwight all wanted him because they saw his potential.

He was always one if my favorite players. It's impossible not to root for a guy like him. I thought he'd be working in Alabama or something, he has family there if I remember correctly. Really hope he gets another shot at the nba or atleast makes some good money playing somewhere. For all the flak he took during his time here, we havnt had a real good wing player since he left.
we went like three months without someone throwing Jerome under the bus. Might be a new record.I have to be honest...I hope he gets a 2nd chance, but he and Jerome Dyson always remind me of what Robert DiNero's character in A Bronx Tale continually said, "The saddest thing in life is wasted talent." I thought they gave up on the team during their last year.
On the other hand, you can't help but pull for a guy who is trying to do the right thing and pull himself up by his boot straps.
Next time I have an opinion, I'll be sure to check with you first.we went like three months without someone throwing Jerome under the bus. Might be a new record.

As I said you can't help by to pull for a guy who is given a second chance and appears to be doing the right thing. Regardless of reason, 2010 was not a fun year to watch UConn Basketball and from my view from the cheap seats, I'm telling you what I saw.Sticks definitely didnt give up on the team his senior year. He was frustrated, as most of hte team was, because of a certain player. That player was given the keys to the city and felt they were hollywood. There was no team unity and it was a mitigating factor. Sticks couldnt get himself the ball and when he didnt touch it for long stretches he would lose interest.
Should have been Kemba's team to run but I understand why things happened the way they happened. 2011 was addition by subtraction.
Just a run down of what Sticks has gone through since being drafted. After being cut by the Magic . Stan Van Gundy actually had tears in his eyes when he cut Sticks cause he wanted him on the team so bad and knew he deserved it over Orton who took his money and did nothing. I was told during one of hte first team meeting Orton was half asleep and Jameer Nelson made a comment saying I make $100 mm and I wouldnt even do that. Dwight Howard wanted Sticks to live at his house in Orlando, after being cut, and he was going to set him up with people to work him out, eat better (Stan Van Gundy one day in the locker room said now guys Sticks is the only person who can eat Mcdonalds everyday and have no ill effects I dont want anyone else eating like Sticks) and stay in playing shape so he could be called if the Magic needed him cause of injury.
Sticks declined Dwights offer, he doesnt like things handed to him which is one of hte main reasons he came to UConn, and ended up in the D league. It took him some time to get to D league cause he wasnt sure what he wanted to do. He ended up winning his first championship with Iowa that season. The following year he was set up to go play in China for a few month for a few hundred thousand but that huge tsunami hit that area and canceled those plans so he ended up back in the d league. He was playing good and was about to be called up to the NBA but ended up tearing his achilles the night before that call happened.
Now it is all starting over and he is looking for another opportunity.
I didn't blame him for something he didn't do?
You're absolutely right. It most certainly is just you. Just the same, I'll be sure to check with you right after specialisthusky to make sure my opinion is satisfactory. Good Grief!!!It takes a special level of delusion to equate 'What Jerome Dyson did' with 'What I have projected that Jerome Dyson did'
You're right man, the kid who's been fighting tooth and nail to get an NBA contract gave up on the team, because, you know, that benefits him somehow? Oh wait, no it doesn't, at all. That's his entire career you're talking about. But yea, because it didn't end well, clearly gave up, because that's more convenient to Husky25. Sounds good. No critical thinking required.
I'm guessing the more likely explanation is that you don't know what you're talking about, but that's just me.

We can probably keep what is a pretty informative thread on Stanley Robinson on track if we can just avoid trying to parse who said what about Jerome Dyson. Ease up, boys.
junky - Don't take this the wrong way, but the only thing you're known for here is being a duck*ing moron. (And by 'don't take this the wrong way', I mean, really, you're a duck*ing moron.)
