stewie in europe 2.jpg

Despite being the only college player on Team USA's roster for their European tour, Breanna Stewart more than held her own against some of Europe's best teams. USA had only 3 practices & 3 shoot arounds squeezed in between 4 games in Spain, Italy and Czech Republic. Despite the travel and lack of practice, Team USA dominated all four opponents by scoring 334 points and giving up only 221. Stewie's stats were impressive.
1. Stewie shot 12-19 or 63% from the field, inside the arc. :)
2. She was third on the team with 18 rebounds behind Griner and Candace Parker.
3. Her 6 offensive rebounds was the 2nd most, behind only Angel McCoughtry.
4. Stewie took the third most free throws and went 7-9 or 78%.
5. She had 5 assists, 5 steals and 3 blocks. Her block total matched Griner and was 2nd on the team.
6. Stewart played 78 minutes or 19.5 per game in the four games. That was more than Dupree, Vandersloot or Robinson.
7. While she missed all 5 of her 3 pt shots, it is possible the arc being measured in meters, not feet, threw her off. Of note, Delle Donne and Parker missed 8 threes each and Sue Bird also missed 5. Darn metric system...

Holding her own on a team of superstars, while playing against Europe's more mature teams can only help Stewie prepare for UConn's upcoming season. :D

Go Huskies..!!

Yes, as I understand it,
the further the game’s from St Louis,
the further the arc from the basket

Did she? I saw a video of Griner and Parker, with Stewie assisting, is there one with Stewie dunking?
Yes, Stewie posted it on her social media. Have to say CP's was slightly better - she really gets up there.
