The first trailer for the movie adaptation of IT came out today:

From what they showed, I think it looks promising. I read the book a couple of times when it came out and then again a few years ago and, from what I remember, they do a good job staying with the source material (though it seems like first encounter with It is set in the 70s instead of the 50s) and making it look scary.

I haven't read much about the movie, s0 I'm not sure if they are going to stay with the plot of the book and have the Loser's Club return as adults or only focus on them as kids. I'm also curious if they are going to stick with the ending in the book or come up with an alternative.

I;ve read the book too and also saw the older movie. Tim Curry did a phenomenal job with it, it will be tough to top. They did omit a lot of stuff from the book in the old Movie (miniseries?)

That book was one of the reasons I drifted off of reading fiction. It was like 800 pages and to read the ending and find out the truth was a massive letdown for me.

That book and mini-series ending were both terrible. So disappointing after such a good build-up in each. I really hope they go a different direction in the new movie for the ending.

Pennywise in the new one doesn't look scary at all, such a disappointment.

Lets just be happy they omitted the grade school gang bang.

I only read it once (once was enough) and I remember getting to that part and thinking

What.
The.
EFFFFFFF.

The ending can best be described as sabotage.
