Cyclones added this 6'6" NAIA transfer in the off season. 26 points and 6 rebounds, including 4-7 on 3's....all in just 18 minutes. Granted, this was an exhibition vs Div II Winona State, but still. That team was dying for length and they got it....and now they can put 5 players on the floor that can shoot the 3. Could be a contender for the Final Four.

Wait…. 4-7 from 3??? Ohhh everyone might be in trouble . The lack of rebounds are still cause of concern though.

Always been a fan. The ISU-Texas games should be good next season.

I am not putting much stock in games against lower tier opponents. She did well versus Cleveland State ( a better school than our usual NC super-cupcakes) but had some issues with fouls. I'll be more interested and watching intently for the good NC matchups coming up out west versus Michigan State, and North Carolina or Oregon than at Iowa vs. Monika Cinzano. Will watch and likely learn not to much versus Southern tonight.

I've been thinking the same. Not sure if the Iowa-Iowa State match up comes before the Phil Knight event. Either way, she'll be facing some good forwards and posts in those games.

Those games are before Iowa. Hope we get the Oregon matchup. It's to bad Sedona Prince is out but the Ducks have 6'-8" Canadian Phillipina Kyei who would look to be a good matchup test. I am intrigued by Soares 3-point shooting for the Brazil national team, she hit 46%. Some of my fellow ISU have her pegged as some sort of physically overwhelming center (she is not). I think she is much more like a taller version of recently graduated Cyclone Kristen Scott.

BTW, Cyclone fans complain every year that we don't have a top of P5 dominating center. I just sort of roll my eyes at those postings. Coach Fennelly has fielded a three point shooting guard dominated offense for several decades and the fans still don't get why we don't have a history of dominating centers. Not like there are tons of top tier posts there in the first place and if you are an elite post prospect your going to go to either an elite school, or if not, at least one that isn't mostly guard dominated. Lot of school recruit "projects" and you can get lucky with that, see Kansas State with Ayokea Lee and Iowa with Monika Cinzano. Cyclones have not been often lucky doing that. Wish my hometown Gophers had taken a flier at Lee or Cinzano. That's a couple big misses for them, don't think they even got "out recruited", just didn't really even recruit them.

Kyei vs Soares would be a very interesting match up. Not sure how comfortable Kyei is defending the perimeter. Haven't seen enough of Soares to know how mobile she is because that could be another challenge for Kyei as well.

I've noticed the bemoaning of having a better post/forward on the ISU board. It makes me chuckle sometimes.

I think it comes from the success of Baylor and Texas with the height on their roster. However, when ISU makes the Sweet 16 when it's been a LOOOOONG time since the last one, they need to appreciate how Fennelly accomplished it, especially without a strong front court.
