For what it's worth (probably close to zero) just read that during Geno's trip to SC he not only was looking at A'ja Wilson but also this girl... LINK
 
Pretty impressive numbers. The 3FG% is low, but seems solid all around and scores a lot of points.
 
Excellent numbers...........I see she's a 5-8 guard, and has some athleticism. ESPNW has her graded as a 90 so far. But she has a year to get that up. Not much of a 3pt shooter but a good rebounded.

Hopefully Geno and company keeps an eye on her.
 
looks like she plays a very tough schedule, I heard the low county home school team is very strong

Well I was speaking loosely - I was thinking more about KG potentially finding out what others in SC thought of the player, what the buzz was, etc., through her own contacts - not contacting or recruiting the player herself.
 
4 years when I met Amber Campbell, 7th grader at the time, I told myself that she was a D-1 Coaches dream. She would always come and run with the older Girls during open gym and she was never intimated by us. I played with her last summer when I went home to Charleston, and she hasnt lost a step. That kid can flat out play, ice water in her Veins.

Amber's team (Northwood Academy) lost to A'ja Wilson's high school (Heathwood Hall) in the SC state semis last night. According to the linked story, Geno was there ...again. That's two trips to South Carolina by Geno to watch Wilson (and Amber) in the past week. Dawn Staley and other coaches there as well.

Wilson did not disappoint, putting up 33 points. Campbell scored 17.

Wilson is a nearly 6'5" player with guard skills. Think Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne, and Breanna Stewart. She's at the top of a very good 2014 group.
 
Jim Fuller reports that Wilson's Heathwood Hall team lost in the championship game tonight.

He also reports that Geno's trip to SC wasn't easy:

Auriemma apparently had some traveling issues when he went to see Wilson play in Friday's semifinals. He was not able to fly into Columbia, S.C. so he had to fly in and out of North Carolina and what I am hearing is he had to drive three hours after flying down there to make it in time for the game.

Yeah, he wants her.
 
Geno's recruitment of A'ja Wilson reminds me a bit of his recruitment of Maya. Hopefully an unofficial visit is set up at some point in the coming months.
