I'm just happy to say I haven't wasted any time watching any bowl games. Just wish I was a Nielsen voter. Screw all of them.

Last college football game I watched this year was Army-Navy. For the first time in years, haven't watched a single bowl game. Just don't care.

I've watched about a total of one bowl game spread out over 3 or 4 games. I was always a pretty die hard college football fan and judging by the lousy attendance it seems we're not the only ones losing interest. The TV ratings last year were the lowest they've been since the establishment of the BCS and they dropped 8% from the previous season, 37% from it's all time high in 1998. How long until the decision makers realize they're slaughtering their golden goose? I can't imagine this years will be any better.

Watched some of Nebraska/Georgia, and caught some action from the BCS bowls besides the Orange. Probably will only watch a quarter or half of NC game.

I can hardly watch a December 1A bowl game between a 6-6 and 7-5 team, unless it involves UConn or Michigan. Ergo, I watched most of the Outback Bowl. Other than that, most of my post season viewing has been limited to Div. 1-AA, 2, and 3 playoffs, simply because those games actually matter toward a National Championship. I'll probably watch some of the TA&M game tonight (because my supervisor's daughter is a student and we'll have something to talk about) and some of the National Championship game (Read: Check in for the score every now and again), but that is about it.

The NCAA has to quit fooling themselves. Most bowl games cost the schools a fortune, which is why the payouts are pooled and spread across the conference members. I think it is actually financially better for the school to NOT make a bowl game.

It is, which would explain Syracuse's tactic of avoiding them. They just got to sit there quietly cashing checks while we went out like suckers and cost our school money. Theoretically there should be ancillary benefits that outweigh the costs but at this point I'm having a hard time figuring out what they were. Spreading the money between schools in a conference is a ridiculous, socialist idea. Why should the losers get to eat off the winners plate? What is this Canada? If schools actually got to keep "their bowl"'s payout they'd probably all make money when attending. The Fiesta Bowl would have been a windfall, like it should have been, rather than a money drain

So PP and GDL are actually doing us a favor? Damn, never thought about it that way.

Kirk Herbstreit? He wasn't even that good at Ohio State State when he was there. And how the heck can that happen, you're surrounded by great players and all you can be is mediocre. Something about being afraid of contact and not liking to be hit, if I remember the details. ESPN and Lee Corso have been carrying him for years as an on air broadcaster. Really not good at all. Thinking he should be a spotter for Trinity College.
