Then there's Marcus Camby and John "The Squid" Calipari.

That's some weak argument by Shaughnessy. Why on earth would the Celtics erect a statue for Rick Pitino?

Universities honor all sorts of people who did far worse than Marcus Camby and John Calipari.

Calipari and Camby, for all their flaws, turned UMess into a legit national power and put them on the map like no one else in program history. Shaughnessy is a miserable putz looking for stuff to get in a snit about....

I LOVE when a serious politician - like Marty Meehan - is the Chancellor of a Academic University. You get the ultimate blame shifting and double talk. "Hey ... I don't know anything about it."

Marty who? He has done nothing positive for UMass. Swamy is the chancellor. Pitino is an UMass alumni and is not honored or recognized anywhere. Folks still talk up Calipari and Camby as if it were just last year.
