Seems likely that they mean Villanova. That's the right time of year for that Big East final we lost.

UCONN lost to Boston College on March 8, 2004, 73-70. UCONN shot 57.4%. BC shot 63%.

Villanova had beaten UCONN about a week before 2/28/04 by the score of 59-58. But UCONN only shot 42.9%.

UCONN did go on to win the next six games after the BC game.
